Vueling Airlines

Founded in 2004, Vueling S.A is a low cost airline based at Viladecans in Great Barcelona with a hub at Barcelona-El Prat Airport. The airline has multiple hubs around the world such as Paris-Orly Airport in Paris, Leonardo da Vinci-Fiumicino Airport in Rome and few more. It is also the second largest airline in Spain by both fleet size and number of destinations. Currently, Vueling Airlines has 155 destinations with 125 aircrafts in the fleet.

Vueling Airlines Facilities

The name of Vueling airlines is seemingly interesting as it was created by the Spanish word “Vuelo” which means “flight” with an English suffix “ing“. Vueling features a single Economy Class cabin, however, customers can opt for preferred seating with extra legroom toward the front of the plane by paying slightly extra charges. Additionally, Vueling Airlines also features four different fare types that consist : Front and back rows, Space, Space Plus, Space One.

Space One

Those passengers who are opting for Space One can enjoy extra legroom space up to 10-20 % more compared to standard economy seats. Also, passengers travelling in Space One on Vueling Airlines flight can take advantage of Priority Boarding, 2 carry-on luggage, seating in row 1 seating which is placed in front of the plane. Additionally, passengers can also avail the instant boarding passes.

Space Plus

Passengers travelling in Space Plus can also enjoy 10-20 % more legroom just like in Space One. Also, passengers can take advantage of benefits like priority boarding, 2 carry-on baggage with seats in 2-4 rows in infront of the aircrafts. Travellers who are checking-in at the airport can get instant boarding passes without standing in long queues.

Space

This fare type also offers extra legroom seats just like Space Plus and Space One. However, passengers travelling in this fare type of Vueling Air cannot avail priority boarding or carry 2 carry-on luggage. Space seats are available after the 1-4 rows in the aircraft.  

Other two fare types, the instant boarding pass option, are available for Space too.

Front and Back Row

Known for being the most restricted fare of Vueling, Front and Back row does not offer any benefits. However, this fare is the most economical fare in Vueling Airlines for passengers who want to travel with minimum baggage.

Vueling Airlines Baggage Allowance

Vueling Airlines baggage policy offers sufficient baggage allowance which enables passengers to travel with adequate baggage. However, there are certain regulations on baggage allowance for passengers to avoid any additional charges in Vueling Airlines. The airline also has bundle options like Fly Light, Fly and Fly Grande.

Hand Luggage

All passengers travelling in Vueling are permitted to carry one handbag free of charge with a dimensions of 40 cm x 20 cm x 30 cm. Airline also advises passengers to carry a handbag that fits under the seat in front of you.

Carry-on Luggage

Passengers that have purchased the bundle of Fly or Fly Grande can carry a cabin bag of maximum weight of 10 kg with dimension of 55 cm x 40 cm x 20 cm. These carry-on baggage should be placed in the designated overhead bins. As per Vueling baggage policy, all premium customers can carry complimentary cabin baggage even if they don’t have a bundle.  For those who want to purchase carry-on baggage, will have to pay 24 EUR – 59 EUR  if they are purchasing via online method. If passengers have purchased the carry-on baggage at the airport counter then they have to pay 55 EUR – 75 EUR as per Vueling Airlines baggage fees.

Checked Baggage

The total dimension of checked baggage should not exceed 158 cm. Those who are flying on Fly Bundle or Fly Grande on international routes can carry a 25 kg suitcase for each passenger. Those who are purchasing via website or mobile app can carry 15 kg of Fly light bundle at the cost of 10 EUR in Vueling flight. For 20 kg of checked baggage, one has to pay 11 EUR.

Vueling Airline Check in

The airline offers flexible and feasible ways to check-in for Vueling Airlines flights. However, there are some guidelines that customers should adhere to for a seamless experience.

• Vueling online check-in is available for passengers from 7 days to 1 hours before scheduled departure. 
• Airport counter check-in for Vueling flights are available from 2 hours to 40 minutes before the scheduled departure. 
• Vueling also has automatic check-in which allows passengers to check-in automatically. 
• In case if a passenger is unable to check-in online, it is likely that it is a case of overbooking. In this instance, passengers can demand compensation under EC261 policy and receive full-refund under Vueling Airlines check in.
• Passengers arriving less than 40 minutes before the scheduled Vueling flight departure will be marked as no-show.

Vueling Airline Cancellation and Refund Policy

Vueling has a certain cancellation fee when it comes to cancellation. Those who want to avoid paying cancellation fees on top of the ticket price, can cancel their ticket within 48 hours of making the reservation as per Vueling Airlines cancellation policy. There are multiple methods which allow passengers to cancel flights through both online website and mobile app mode. 

• According to Vueling cancellation policy, a passenger with a refundable ticket can cancel their flight anytime to receive a full refund. However, the passenger should ensure to cancel the flight at least 48 hours before the scheduled departure. 
• As per cancellation policy of Vueling, if the ticket expires then there will be no refund. 
• In order to receive a full refund, customers should cancel their flight within 48 hours of booking it. 
• As per Vueling Airlines reviews, passengers with cancellation insurance coverage don’t have to pay any cancellation fee. 
• As per Vueling Cancellation policy, the airline does not charge any cancellation fee in cases of bereavement of passenger’s immediate family, flight cancelled by airline, date change of airline.

Vueling Cancelled Flight Compensation Rules

There are instances when the airline cancels their scheduled flight due to numerous reasons like technical difficulty, shortage of crew, bad weather, or even clearance issues from ATC. 

• In those above mentioned instances, Vueling offers compensation as full refund in the original mode of payment that was used to purchase the ticket in the first place. 
• Vueling also offers delayed flight compensation depending on the time of delay. If the flight was delayed for two -four hours then the passengers will get travel credit for future trips with Vueling Airlines. 
• If the flight is delayed for more than four hours, the passengers will get a full refund against the flight booking either in form of money or travel credit.

Vueling Refund Policy

Vueling refund policy ensures flexibility and convenience for its passengers in terms of refund. If a flight has been cancelled or delayed, then the airline offers options to refunds or choose alternate flights to its customer.

• The flight must be cancelled within 48 hours before the scheduled departure to procure full refund. 
• For refund, passengers must ensure to book the Vueling flight from its official sources like the Vueling Airlines website, mobile app.  
• Passengers can receive a full refund if the cancellation is done because of a medical emergency. 
• If the passenger has already checked in for their flight then no refund will be issued. For further information, passengers can dial the Vueling Airlines customer service. 
• Passengers with travel insurance can cancel their reservation without any cancellation charges. They can collect their refund in the form of travel credit within 7 business days.
