Bahamasair is the official state owned carrier of The Bahamas, headquartered in Nassau. Founded in 1973, the airline currently operates on 32 domestic and regional destinations with 9 aircrafts in its fleet. Some of the main destinations are in the Caribbean and the United States. Bahamas Air operates its majority of flights from its base at Lynden Pindling International Airport.

Bahamas Air Baggage Liability

Bahamasair urges passengers to ensure the safety of their baggage. However, if a passenger has checked their baggage then it is solely the airline responsibility to keep the baggage intact. In case, if the baggage is damaged or lost, the airline will reimburse up to $453. 50 per ticketed domestic customer which is subject to claim verification. 

In case of international travel itinerary, passengers can also claim reimbursement against their damages or lost as per Warsaw Convention up  to $9.07 per pound up to 50 pounds per checked bag. However, the airline will not reimburse certain items like jewellery, cash or camera.

The airline is known for offering flexibility and comfort to its customers and thus the airline has multiple methods. However, there are certain guidelines that the customers should follow to have a smooth check-in experience. f

• Passengers should reach the airport at least 2 hours prior to their scheduled flight for all domestic flights. 
• For international flights, passengers should be at the airport at least 3 hours prior to scheduled departure. 
• Passengers must procure their boarding pass at least 45 minutes before the flight takes off. 
• The airline check-in starts from 48 hours to 12 hours prior to the scheduled departure of the flight.

Some Exceptions to Bahamasair Check-in

Online check-in is not available for all kinds of passengers, according to the airline, certain passengers will have to do check-in directly at the counter at the airport. 

• Unaccompanied minors are not allowed to online check-in and must check-in directly at the airport check-in counter along with their accompanied guardian.

Bahamasair Cancellation and Refund Policy

The airline has a certain cancellation fee when it comes to cancellation. Those who want to avoid paying cancellation fees on top of the ticket price, can cancel their ticket within 48 hours of making the reservation given that the flight scheduled departure is 7 days ahead of the reservation as per the airline cancellation policy.

Bahamasair Cancellation Fee

As per the cancellation policy, customers are allowed to cancel their flight 48 hours prior to checked departure of the flight. However, the cancellation will be applicable on paying a cancellation fee of 50 USD  per passenger per ticket. 

If a passenger misses their flight, then the airline has complete authority to mark that passenger as a no-show. In case of no-show, passengers will have to pay 250 USD  as flight cancellation fee to get a refund.

• The airline offers both refundable and non-refundable tickets for the affordability and convenience of the customer.
